Have you heard the still, small voice within you?
Does it call you to something greater? Has it called you to find out who
you really are?
Richard has been aware of that “whispering” voice
within him since his early teens and perhaps even before, but like many people,
he set it aside while he followed other voices. The “other” voices were inside
of him as well as outside of him. They had a very different quality than the
“still” voice. They loudly called out for him to be successful in school, in
university, and in work. They called him to make money and climb the corporate
ladder. Many of them were “you should…” voices. Some of those voices had fear in
them and some were joyful.

Following those more outer voices, Richard graduated
from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor Degree in Commerce, Computer
Science in 1982. In 1983, he joined IBM for a successful 13 year long career in
sales and after that with a couple of other computer software companies selling
to the Oil & Gas Industry. The knowledge and experience was invaluable for
operating in the world then and now. Richard was grateful, but was also feeling
unfulfilled.
Again and again throughout those years at IBM,
Richard had the inner voice calling to him to find out who he really was and
what life was really all about. Finally, to satisfy that inner voice, Richard
traveled the world and this travel became a metaphor for the deep inner journey
he was to take. Richard traveled throughout Europe, Turkey, Egypt, Morocco and
then to India and Nepal. With each journey taken, he gradually opened up his
heart, mind and spirit to other possibilities and ways of being. By 1997, that
inner voice had guided him to know his real purpose and calling which would no
longer allow him to follow the old path.

In 2001, Richard created WisdomWays.
WisdomWays comes out of Richard’s own inward
and continuing journey to discover the deeper essence of who he is and to fully
express that which he discovers authentically in the world.
Richard created WisdomWays to share some of the
tools, processes and wisdom that he discovers along his way and to support
leaders and organizations in their own life journey. WisdomWays is also a
vehicle for Richard to discover new pathways to love and truth through
connection with his clients, partners and himself.
Richard holds that we are all powerful creators and
capable of great things. By each of us connecting to this inner power, our
purpose for being and each other, Richard envisions individuals and
organizations with greater peace, balance, abundance and joy.
